ANSWER

Hello and thanks for joining the site. If you are looking for a low cost printer with decent quality and very minimal cost per page, then you can go for the Epson R230 printer with a six color CISS (Continuous Ink Supply System). The only problem will be the speed of the printer. However for few copies of prints per day it will just work great. Or for that matter, you can go for any printer with CISS capable system. You have to ask your printer dealer for this. The CISS system costs around Rs. 2500/- here in my place. The printer R230 will cost around Rs. 7,000/-.

Low Cost Inkjet Cartridges

Inkjet printers are expensive to own not because they are expensive but because the cost of the ink cartridges are usually very high and sometimes goes up to almost as high as 50 precent of the cost of the printer. The blunt fact is that most of the manufacturers of these printers make money not out of the printers but out of the ink cartridges. As a result of this high cost, there are many third party vendors who offer cartridges for as low as 75 percent the price of an original cartridge. Depending on the budget you may try these cartridges as they don’t cost much and if the quality is acceptable to you then you may be saving a lot of money in buying cartridges. Autoprint’s 20 x30 inches Offset Machine

Autoprint is reported to be planning on launching a 20 inches x 30 inches single color offset machine. This will help them move from being a munufaturer of only mini offset machines. The policy change is due to the falling demand of small size machines all over the world. There is a great shift from single color jobs to multicolor ones everywhere and hence the fall in demand. Moreover the success of digital printing is replacing many mini offset machines.

Mug Printing Machine

sublimate-part-one-200X200During the Print Pack 2009, I came across a fascinating mug printing machine. A special type of transfer paper is first printed using an epson printer which uses dye inks. Then the mug which is specially treated for the purpose of printing on it is placed in the mug holder along wiht the paper wrapping it. The holder is capable of passing heat on the mug which causes the print to be transfered to it (mug). The whole process is simple but the prints are excellent. The only drawback could be that it can print on only one size of mug and that also on only the specially treated mugs availble from the company. I don’t remember the name of the manufacturer right now but wil post it as soon as I go through my files. The price of the mug printing machine along with the printer and the ink system was around Rs. 37,000/-. The price of printing one mug comes under Rs. 10/-. I could not enquire the price of the mugs.
